The Sound Defects: Iron Horse

"Fresh out of Indianapolis, the Sound Defects blend turntables, guitars, bass, breaks, keys and whatever else they can get their hands on to create a bizarre collage of beats. Skillfully blending the old with the new, they create a sound that blurs the line between the past and the present. Their first full-length album, Volume 2, is sixteen tracks of instrumental imperfection. More than enough to rock your next party, wedding, bar mitsvah, or intervention. With tracks like “Faded Soul”, “El Chupacabra”, and “Tater Hater”, it’s guaranteed to be fun for the whole family.  The group, which consists of Marty Levine (bass), Jesse Terpstra (guitar, keys), and Brian Witzig (dj, producer), began working together in 2001. They had previously been members of the live hip hop band the Junior Varsity Crew and produced for Indianapolis mc Origin@l. In 2002 they released the EP Respect the Specs. Also check for their work on remix projects by San Antonio’s own Krionix". -ThirdEarthMusic
