She is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the U.K. Music Hall of Fame. International polls have named Springfield among the best female rock artists of all time". Les Baxter & His Orchestra

Les Baxter was an American musician and composer. Baxter himself had arranged Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy" in 1947 for a recording conducted by Frank De Vol. In 1953 he scored his first movie, the sailing travelogue Tanga Tika. With his own orchestra, he released a number of hits including "Ruby" (1953), "Unchained Melody" (1955) and "The Poor People Of Paris" (1956). He also achieved success with concept albums of his own orchestral suites: Le Sacre Du Sauvage, Festival Of The Gnomes, Ports Of Pleasure, and Brazil Now, the first three for Capitol and the fourth on Gene Norman's Crescendo label. The list of musicians on these recordings includes Plas Johnson and Clare Fischer. Baxter also wrote the "Whistle" theme from the TV show Lassie.ike his counterparts Henry Mancini and Lalo Schifrin, Baxter later worked for the film industry in the 60's and 70's. He worked on movie soundtracks for B-movie studio American International Pictures where he composed and conducted scores for Roger Corman's Edgar Allan Poe films and other horror stories and teenage musicals, including The Pit and the Pendulum, The Comedy of Terrors, Muscle Beach Party, The Dunwich Horror, and Frogs. Howard W. Koch recalled that Baxter composed, orchestrated and recorded the entire score of The Yellow Tomahawk (1954) in a total of three hours for $5,000." - Wikipedia

Matt Ford: DJ Format

"Matt Ford, better known as DJ Format (a near-inversion of his birth name), is a hip hop DJ born in Southampton, England who lives in Brighton. He collaborates frequently with Abdominal on the album Music For the Mature B-Boy and with Abdominal and fellow Canadian rapper D-Sisive on the second full album If You Can't Join 'Em… Beat 'Em, as well as with Akil and Chali 2na from Jurassic 5.n 2006 Format's "fabriclive 27" in the Fabric DJ mix series was one of the most well received of the series[citation needed]. His DJ sets are renowned[citation needed] for their boundary-crossing selection of the funk, soul, rock & hip-hop and his fabric mix showed off a condensed version of the party set that he's built a solid reputation on. This was followed up by his own underground mix of obscure Eastern European beats, the now highly collectable 'European Vacation' CD. In 2008 Format released another mix album, this time for the Fania label, applying his b-boy style to a catalogue of latin music. Alongside this, Format also discreetly released a 12" tribute to James Brown, Stealin' James. DJ Format's third album is due for release on 27 February 2012" - Wikipedia

Shanti Roots Dohelsky

"Shanti Roots. Vienna-born Markus Dohelsky approached the world of electronic music for the first time under the influence of the Acid House Movement, at the beginning of the Nineties. Equipped with a 303 and other synthezisers, the prime move as an electronic musician was together with Istvan Zachar in the shape of the project Ohm 8 in 1991, which led to very early performances on stage of the Loop Club. The preoccupation for a straight 4-to-the-floor aesthetics should vanish in favour of a reduced broken beat concept, as soon as Dohelsky listened to DJ Krush's piece "Influx" on the Radio. The new sample-styled consummate MoWax trademark was nourishment for him and gave vent for his first tracks which Markus Dohelsky produced over the two following years, but in relative isolation and without any existing scene".- viennascientists.com

Zehnpfennig Slowburn

"Any Zehnpfennig. With his unmistakably and extremely musical hand, Ady is both well known as organist and studio musician. In 1971, he published his first record. Numerous records and CDs followed, and countless appearances on TV and live concerts prove his capability to breathe musical life into dry technique. He is a perfect performer and arranger and meanwhile has become a legend.- (Taste-Festival.de). Percy Faith was a Canadian-born American bandleader, orchestrator, composer and conductor, known for his lush arrangements of pop and Christmas standards. He is often credited with creating the "easy listening" or "mood music" format which became staples of American popular music in the 1950s and continued well into the 1960s. Though his professional orchestra-leading career began at the height of the swing era, Faith refined and rethought orchestration techniques, including use of large string sections, to soften and fill out the brass-dominated popular music of the 1940s"- Wikipedia

David Axelrod

"David Axelrod is an American composer, arranger and producer, working in several musical genres. His work as arranger and composer began to be rediscovered in the early 1990s, and to be sampled by artists such as DJ Shadow and Lauryn Hill. In 1993 he released his first album for over a decade, Requiem:Holocaust. Several compilations of his earlier work were also released. In 2000 he released David Axelrod, which used rhythm tracks originally recorded for a proposed third Electric Prunes album, with new arrangements. Dr. Dre used a David McCallum cut ('The Edge') for "The Next Episode" from 1999's 2001. Masta Ace also used a cut from 'The Edge' in his song, "No Regrets" from the 2001 album, Disposable Arts. In addition, 'The Edge' was heavily sampled on the Emperor Penguin track, 'Burnt Sienna and Avocado'.
David Axelrod appeared at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on 17 March 2004 as part of the Ether festival where he conducted a one off performance of his solo work. He was joined on stage by Richard Ashcroft who sang Holy Are You, originally recorded by The Electric Prunes. At the end of this rare concert he informed the audience that he was suffering from ill health. In 2006, "Live at Royal Festival Hall" was released asa DVD and CD. Natural Calamity

"The Shibuya-kei trio known as Natural Calamity is a bit of an anachronism compared to others in the rich Japanese pop scene characterized by Cornelius and Pizzicato Five. The earthy trip-hop blues produced by Shunji Mori and Kuni Sugimoto, plus American Stephanie Heasley’s countrified vocals come in marked contrast to Tokyo’s many French/Brazilian/exotica aficionados. Mori and Sugimoto met in the early ’90s, and produced their first album Dawn in the Valley for File Records, owned by Toshio Nakanishi of Love T.K.O. Let It Come Down and Sundance followed, as well as the collaboration LP Group of Gods, recorded with Nakanishi and Masayaki Kudo (who form half of the trip-hop quartet Skylab). While Sugimoto was spending some time in London, he met Stephanie Heasley, who was working at the Tower Records store in Piccadilly Circus. After recording in London and Spain as a trio, Natural Calamity signed to the Idyllic/Toy’s Factory label and released Andulucian Moon. Hyped in the Japanese press, the group earned American distribution through the Dust Brothers’ Nickelbag label for their second LP, 1998’s Peach Head. The inevitable remix album followed, with contributions by Stock, Hausen & Walkman, the Dust Brothers, Buffalo Daughter and Kool Keith." - LastFM

Johns & Roc-N-Rolla Linx

"Link" Wray was an American rock and roll guitarist, songwriter and occasional singer. Wray was noted for pioneering a new sound for electric guitars, as exemplified in his 1958 instrumental hit "Rumble", by Link Wray and his Ray Men, which pioneered an overdriven, distorted electric guitar sound. He also "invented the power chord, the major modus operandi of modern rock guitarist,"and in doing so fathering," or making possible, "punk and heavy rock". Rolling Stone placed Wray at number 67 of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time" (Wikipedia). Sammy Johns is an American country singer-songwriter, best known for his million selling 1975 hit single, "Chevy Van".After his eponymous debut album on the GRC record label, which included "Chevy Van", the singer signed a deal in 1976 with Warner-Curb, which resulted in Johns working on the soundtrack to The Van. The 1982 New World Records single "Falling for You" came to the attention of Elektra, and the company took Johns on board and issued "Love Me off the Road" and "Common Man". When country artist John Conlee covered "Common Man", the single went gold and topped the charts. Conlee made the song his theme, and Johns continued writing songs for others" - Wikipedia

"Things Have Changed" won the Academy Award, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. The director of Wonder Boys, Curtis Hanson, also created a music video for "Things Have Changed," filming new footage of Bob Dylan on the film's various locations and editing it with footage used in Wonder Boys as if Dylan were actually in the film. "Things Have Changed" has been used in the Showtime series Brotherhood and twice in the CBS series NCIS, and is featured on the NCIS Soundtrack. Smith & Good Will

"Elliott Smith was an American singer-songwriter and musician. Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised primarily in Texas, and resided for a significant portion of his life in Portland, Oregon, where he first gained popularity. His primary instrument was the guitar, but he was also proficient at piano, clarinet, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica. Smith had a distinctive vocal style characterized by his "whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery" and use of multi-tracking to create vocal layers, textures, and harmonies. After playing in the rock band Heatmiser for several years, Smith began his solo career in 1994 with releases on the independent record labels Cavity Search and Kill Rock Stars. In 1997 he signed a contract with DreamWorks Records, for which he recorded two albums. Smith rose to mainstream prominence when his song "Miss Misery"—included in the soundtrack for the film Good Will Hunting—was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category in 1998." - Wikipedia
